My top podcasts to listen to right now

Podcasts are a great way to fill silence in my travels or working days. I have go to podcasts and ones I only listen depending on topic and guest, they are a great way to learn new things and put a smile on your face.

Here is a few of the most unmissable listening to get stuck into.

Off Menu – James Acaster and Ed Gamble

Comedians Ed Gamble and James Acaster invite special guests into their magical restaurant to each choose their favourite starter, main course, side dish, dessert and drink. Ever wanted to eat your dream meal? It’s time to order. The duo laugh their way through each course and discuss the guests favourite food and drink and where they have had it best. It has even become a live show – which sold out so quick.

Parenting Hell – Josh Widdecombe and Rob Beckett

This podcast has become my go to when traveling. It puts a smile on my face and makes me laugh. Join Rob & Josh twice a week as they share their tales of parenting woe and chat to celebrity parents about how they’re coping, or not coping. Each episode we get to hear stories from their week, maybe something that went well but mostly something that didn’t. It doesn’t always involve the kids. I love the podcast as it makes you remember that even well known names are ‘normal’ people. As a non parent myself, it’s fun to hear all the ‘parenting hell’ stories – sort of a preparation of what life will be like in the future. And these two are some of my parents comedians, it’s a great listen and a lot of fun.

Diary of a CEO with Steven Bartlett

I finish listening to these episodes with so many different feelings. You learn something new with each episode, whether it is about a celebrity, your own life or just the world around you. Steven knows how to ask the right questions and has the connection with his guest. I first heard of Steven Bartlett by watching him on Dragons Den and loving him as a ‘dragon’, and stumbled across his ever growing popular podcast. I love how you can watch the episodes on BBCiPlayer as well as listening to them on platforms such as Spotify. Podcasts where you can watch the video recording are so engaging.

Steven sits down with some of the world’s most influential people, experts and thinkers and embarks on a curiosity journey to discover untold truths, unlearned lessons. He wants to make the audiences lives more enjoyable, more successful and more fulfilled.

No such thing as a fish

No Such Thing As A Fish is a weekly podcast in which QI researchers Dan Schreiber, James Harkin, Anna Ptaszynski and Andrew Hunter Murray share the most bizarre, extraordinary and hilarious facts they’ve discovered over the last seven days. Consider it the podcast equivalent of meeting a group of giddy trivia lovers, the people who are excited to tell you tales about the most random things.
