F1 Italian GP Qualifying: Sainz on Pole for Ferrari

Can Carlos Sainz stay on pole tomorrow as he takes provisional pole from Max Verstappen at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza.

Top three tomorrow will be: Sainz, Verstappen, Leclerc.

The times were close, Sainz beat Verstappen by just 0.013 seconds. Charles Leclerc missed out on pole by 0.067 seconds. Times in F1 are ever so close.

Carlos Sainz spoke about this pole position: “It was such an intense Qualifying. We were very on the limit and on that last lap I knew I had some lap time to come and I went for it.

“Goosebumps since I crossed the finish line and watched the crowd.

“Everywhere we go it is just noise, encouragement, support- the best feeling you can have as an athlete.

“Tomorrow I will give it everything to get that P1.”

Sainz has been quick all throughout the weekend so far and with their Monza livery it makes it more special.

George Russell will start alongside the Ferrari of Leclerc in fourth and the Redbull of Sergio Perez in fifth.

Albon has been very strong again this weekend so a sixth place is a perfect spot.

The Mclaren’s are celebrating the teams 60th anniversary, let’s hope the papaya’s have something in them to keep them in the top 10 and in the points. Lando Norris starts P9 tomorrow with his teammate in P7.
