WATERLOO ROAD CONFIRMS RETURN DATE ON BBC ONE

Filming on the two newly-commissioned 8×60’ series began in Greater Manchester this autumn. The BBC have today confirmed that the show returns Tuesday 2nd January at 8pm.

Waterloo Road initially ran on the BBC between 2006 and 2015, and following its breakout success on BBC iPlayer during lockdown it returned with new episodes at the start of 2023.

A stand out cast including returning actors Angela Griffin and Adam Thomas as well as Kym Marsh, Shauna Shim among the school staff, and an ensemble of exciting newcomers and rising stars as pupils.

The last episode was left with part of the school burning down (which Waterloo Road has experienced before in a similar form) by student Myles, leaving Troubled student Danny Lewis for dead. Pupils came together to sing ‘Before you go’ by Lewis Capaldi, led by loveable character Noel McManus (Liam Scholes). Preston Walters was coming out of Hospital after suffering from a cardiac arrest from his eating habits, leading to an emotional bulimia storyline.

Viewers can stream all episodes of Waterloo Road, including 2023’s two new series, exclusively on BBC iPlayer now and catch the newest episodes from January 2nd 2024.
