My life with the Walter boys

Life on the ranch version of The Summer I turned Pretty, with a pretty young girl getting in between a pair of brothers not knowing who she wants more.

I finished the show in one day and I hope there is a series two. The ending left fans hanging of why Jackie left for New York, is it just for the summer or has she left for good, because she kissed the ‘wrong’ brother.

The main character Jackie relocates from New York to rural Colorado after her entire family is killed in an accident. She moves in with Katherine and her family, who was her mums best friend. My Life With the Walter Boys brought more questions than answers after its 10-episode run. During her stay with the Walter family, Jackie finds herself in the middle of a classic TV love triangle, and the season finale does little to provide an answer to one of the most important questions.

My Life with the Walter Boys is based on the 2014 novel by Ali Novak, which was first started as a Wattpad story. The Netflix TV show does a good job adapting the book, but it does take more creative freedom with the story.

With Alex seeming to be the safer and easier choice, as well as someone showing strong interest in her, she starts dating him earlier on in the series. Until the end of the finale episode, and Jackie finds her sisters teapot that Cole had fixed which leads her to kiss him. So who does she offically end up with… That is for series two, we hope.

Despite the book clears up the Love Triangle, with Alex and Jackie breaking up and her and Cole kiss at the airport before going to New York. In the the series finale, she just leaves a note saying “Sorry!” and was already at the airport without a break-up happening. So all is up in the air for Jackie and the Walter Boys in the new Netflix series.

The show was cheesy but a non-stop watch. And in comparison to The Summer I turned Pretty:

Team Alex = Team Jeremiah

Team Conrad = Team Conrad
