2023 Christmas Tv specials to watch

Christmas Day always brings a special type of tv to sit around and watch, normally a fan favourite show with a Christmas twist. Every year soaps such as Eastenders bring drama to the square and this year seems something special you wouldn’t want to miss.

Here are some festive episodes you wouldn’t want to miss

Doctor Who

Doctor Who is back on our screens with a brand new Doctor, companion and Russell T Davies has returned with a bang. The Christmas episodes were initially broadcast every year, beginning with “The Christmas Invasion” (2005) and ending with “Twice Upon a Time” (2017) but moved to New Years day with series 11. It will be our first time seeing Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson in action together as our new Tardis team.

“The Church on Ruby Road” airs at 5.55pm on Christmas Day. You can watch it on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Eastenders

The anitipation finally comes to an end when we find out who the body is in the Vic and who killed him, when the six team up on Christmas Day. This has been the best and biggest lead up to the Christmas Day special and it couldn’t of been done any better. The last we saw of the Six: Kathy, Stacy, Denise, Linda, Suki and Sharon, was in a flash-forward episode in the Vic on Christmas all in a different state of shock till Sharon says “He’s dead.” Sharon and Kenau getting married and its the first Christmas without Lola.

Ghosts

The last ever episode for BBC Ghosts aires on BBC One on Christmas Day at 7.45pm. The last we saw of the family at Button House, Allison was pregnant, now the baby has been born and it’s Christmas time. It’s going to be an emotional one saying goodbye to the ghosts. With the episode being one of the most anticipated Christmas specials for 2023.

Here go we

This Christmas, the chaotic Jessop family return to our screens in Here We Go: Mum’s Classic Family Christmas. Rachel is determined to have an classic Jessop Family Christmas with Amy back home for Christmas and the family is all together, would could go wrong. A great show on BBC filmed in the style of a home video by the youngest child, Sam – a fun way to have a tv show.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
